Salisbury Gloves

Salisbury gloves are rubber work gloves that are made for those who handle electrical wires. They are safety gloves that provide insulation from the electrical current that could be fatal to workers if they did not wear gloves like these. Salisbury gloves in rubber styles are tested to ensure that they provide protection from electrical shock at various electrical currencies. The worker needs to wear the pair that insulates him or her from the amount of current that they work with.

Salisbury gloves are tested at a higher voltage than the manufacturer recommends that they be used to work with. For example, the lowest maximum use is 500V. The thickness and insulating power of this pair of gloves was tested on 2500V. The gloves that were tested on 30,000V are recommended for use with voltage no higher than 26,500V.

Two pairs of Salisbury gloves are worn when working as a lineman or around electrical current. The main outer pair is made of black rubber. An insulating inner glove of red can be changed, depending on the voltage that the lineman is working with.

Another pair of Salisbury gloves that are also insulating is made in black, blue, or red. They are made of either natural rubber or SALCOR rubber in lengths of 11 inches, 14 inches, or 18 inches. They have been tested for maximum voltage use of 500V, 1000V, 7,500V, 17,000V, or 26,500V. Rubber insulating gloves are sold with leather protectors and they are sold with a canvas storage bag.

Lineman’s mittens are another type of Salisbury gloves that are designed to keep workers’ fingers warmer when working outside in the winter. The design features a three finger mitten that keeps the thumb and index finger able to move when necessary. There is another style that is designed for winter use in harsh temperatures. This is the SALPOL glove that is leather and has a lining that is especially designed for warmth.

Other leather gloves are driving gloves made for work. They are tough and durable and made to withstand hard work. They are available with a lining or unlined.

Some styles of Salisbury gloves are cowhide leather, and they are worn with either a summer glove liner or a winter glove liner. The lining for summer is made of cotton and polyester. The lining for winter is made of acrylic and nylon for warmth while working. The leather of the outer glove is tan and black or tan, orange, and black.

Salisbury gloves are made by Honeywell. This company makes other work equipment to use along with their gloves, including blankets, line hose, temporary grounding equipment, and more. Their products meet the requirements of government standards for safety when working with electrical power.
