Smartphone Gloves

Smartphone gloves are very popular during the cold winter months. They are specially designed gloves that can be worn to use a smartphone while they protect the hands from the cold. If you are standing outside waiting for a bus or train, these gloves enable you to send a text or use other functions on it in any way you want to. Wearing smartphone gloves makes it possible to handle the cold phone when the weather is at freezing temperatures.

Touchscreens respond to smartphone gloves in the same way that they respond to human skin. Many smartphone gloves have special tips on the thumb and forefinger that are silver in color.  When the silver pads touch the phone screen, it is possible to text in the same way as you would without wearing gloves. The gloves have tips on the thumb and forefinger that are used in texting.

Some gloves have a gripping material on the palm of the hand so that the phone is more secure when it is held. The gloves are made in men’s or women’s sizes in a variety of styles and fabrics, such as acrylic, wool, fleece, or other fabrics.  Many are made in acrylic or wool in solids with a ring around the open finger and thumb. Other styles are solid colors in fleece or similar warm fabrics.

Another type of smartphone gloves has special silver fibers woven into the fabric of the glove. With these, any finger may be used to text. This style and the one with pads of silver allow the wearer to keep their fingers covered with no need to have the skin directly touch the cold screen.

Smartphone gloves can also be found that have all of the fingers exposed, and there is no way to cover them. These fingerless gloves are just right when there is a chill in the air but the weather is not below freezing. Some people do wear them in freezing winter months, and they place their hands in their coat pockets when not using their phone. Men’s and women’s smartphone gloves in these styles are made in many different materials, including wool, fleece, leather, and others.

A third type of smartphone gloves that is different from the gloves with pads on the fingers or those that are permanently open is a style that can be opened or closed. This is ideal for many people who want to have the option of texting or answering their phone and still have their fingers covered in the winter months. These smartphone gloves look like any other type of fleece, wool, or leather. The difference is that either the entire finger and thumb section folds back or the portion of the gloves that covers the thumb and forefinger has openings for them.
